Hello, I’m Jennifer Iacovino, founder of LKI Consulting, LLC. I partner with schools, districts, and organizations to design professional learning and systems that bring teams together, especially those supporting students with disabilities.
My work is rooted in both strategy and heart. With a background in special education, coaching, education research and large-scale professional learning, I focus on helping leaders and educators build clarity in their roles, strengthen collaboration, and create more inclusive, sustainable learning environments.
When educational teams are aligned and supported by strong systems, students with disabilities can fully access learning, build independence, and experience a true sense of belonging. I’ve seen the difference this makes—in classrooms, in schools, and in the lives of students.
And when it’s done well, it benefits all students.
If you’re thinking about how to better align your people, practices, and purpose, or want to strengthen how your teams support students with disabilities, I’d love to connect.

Like many students, I didn’t feel like I truly fit in the education system growing up. I developed math anxiety early on, struggled with concepts that seemed to come easily to others, and learned how to get by. I stopped taking math classes as soon as I could. I flew under the radar and did okay. BUT JUST OKAY ISN'T OKAY.
Looking back, I often wonder how different my experience might have been if teachers knew then what we know now about how students learn, about the importance of positive academic identities, and about belonging.
That experience has stayed with me and lives at the core of what I do.

When I first became a special education teacher, I quickly realized how much there was to learn beyond what I felt prepared for. I was fortunate to have incredible mentors who helped me develop a more holistic understanding of students and how to use evidence-based practices in meaningful, aligned ways.
Every educator deserves that level of support.
I saw, first-hand, how strong, aligned educational teams truly made a difference in the lives of students with disabilities and their families.
I also saw that belonging doesn’t just happen because we say that's what we want. It requires commitment and intention. Because systems don’t change unless the people in them do.

That’s what led me to step into work beyond the classroom. I wanted to better understand how we create the conditions for meaningful, sustainable change, not just for students, but for the adults who support them.
Since then, my work has focused on helping schools and systems make intentional shifts, aligning people, practices, and purpose so that belonging and access are not left to chance. Because when we get that right, schools become places where both students and educators can truly thrive together.

I partner with schools and districts to strengthen how educational teams work together to support students with disabilities and ultimately benefit ALL students.
My current work includes:
This work is always tailored to each district’s context and priorities, focusing on where support is needed most.

"I do not have a special education background and will be mentoring three new special education teachers this year, two are completing their coursework for licensure while teaching. The mentor’s breakout session helped me with what to focus on starting Day 1 and I feel more confident about mentoring our new special education teachers!”
-MN Instructional Mentor
“It was practical, engaging, and directly applicable to our district’s needs. I am leaving this first session with a much deeper understanding of what our special education teachers do and how to support them.”
-MN School Leader

“I love what I do. I love the kids I work with. I do this job for them. All the training I have ever been given is about how to restrain them, never how to teach them. Thank you for giving me, us, the knowledge and resources to work with students in proactive and meaningful ways. I was thinking of not coming back and now I feel reinvigorated.”
-Fresno Unified Special Education Paraeducator

"Through this district-wide approach to strategic planning, we were able to focus our efforts, have honest and sometimes tough conversations, and work collaboratively. We’ve seen referrals decrease, student well-being improve, and staff perception of school culture grow stronger. This is something I feel confident we can continue to lead on our own moving forward."
